This unit serves to increase student knowledge of internet safety, aid the student in identifying dangers on the internet, build critical thinking and decision making skills related to computer usage, and protect themselves from inappropriate behavior online. Students will identify which types of personal information is suitable and unsuitable to share online. Students will also identify appropriate people to communicate with online. Students will also understand their role in create a safe environment for themselves and others on the internet.
Students participated in an activity in which they were asked, "What will your digital footprint say about you, 10 to 15 years from today?" Student responses were positive and optimistic about who they will become one day, and what their digital footprint will reveal about them.
